RECKLI 3D Files – Designed for Smarter Planning

RECKLI 3D files support architects, planners and façade designers in the early and detailed planning of concrete surfaces. They make it possible to integrate the design language of RECKLI formliners directly into digital planning workflows and to evaluate structure, scale and orientation at an early stage.

The geometries represent the visible concrete surface of the façade — the finished result after demoulding. The physical RECKLI formliner itself is the corresponding negative of this surface. This approach allows realistic visualisation while keeping the data efficient and suitable for everyday planning tasks.

Designed for Performance and Planning

All RECKLI 3D files are optimized for use in common CAD and BIM environments. A simplified mesh ensures smooth handling, even in large or complex façade models, while still clearly conveying the character and depth of the structure.

The files are provided in the most relevant formats for architectural planning, enabling seamless integration into existing workflows — from early concept studies to coordinated façade layouts and detailed planning.

Supporting Design Decisions Early On

Using RECKLI 3D files helps to:

  • assess the scale and proportion of a structure on the building
  • test different orientations and rotations of the pattern
  • coordinate panel sizes, joint layouts and façade grids
  • communicate design intent clearly to clients, consultants and contractors

By visualising the concrete surface directly in the model, design decisions can be made earlier, discussed more clearly and documented more reliably.

Notes on Correct Use

When working with RECKLI 3D files, please note:

  • Always verify the dimensions after importing and compare them with the official RECKLI pattern and product data.
  • The files are labelled at the top and bottom to indicate the intended orientation. Depending on the architectural concept, the formliner can of course be rotated.
  • The 3D data is intended exclusively for planning and visualisation purposes. It is not suitable for manufacturing formliners or tools and does not replace RECKLI product data sheets, application instructions or technical advice.

From Digital Model to Built Reality

RECKLI 3D files are a planning aid that complements personal consultation and technical support. They help to align digital models with real construction processes, but the final execution is always based on the official RECKLI documentation and coordinated project-specific solutions.

For support with pattern selection, façade planning, panel layout or special applications, RECKLI experts are available to assist throughout all project phases.

FAQ – RECKLI 3D Files

Which file formats are available?

RECKLI provides 3D files in the most relevant formats for architectural planning, suitable for common CAD and BIM software:

  • .ifc
  • .ifc (2x3)
  • .3dm
  • .dwg
  • .obj
  • .pdf
  • .sldprt
  • .stl

The exact formats depend on the product and are listed in the respective download section.

If you require additional formats, project-specific advice or support in using the data within your CAD or BIM environment, please contact us.

Can the pattern orientation be changed?

Yes. The files are labelled at the top and bottom to indicate the intended reference orientation. Depending on the architectural concept, the formliner — and therefore the pattern — can of course be rotated in the model.

May the RECKLI 3D files be modified or reused?

No. The RECKLI 3D files may not be modified, adapted or reused for other purposes. They are provided exclusively for planning and visualisation within the context of RECKLI products. Any further use, reproduction or technical application — in particular for manufacturing or creating derivative tools or geometries – is not permitted.

Can the 3D files be used to manufacture formliners?

No. The data is not suitable for manufacturing formliners, moulds or tools. Any reproduction or technical use beyond planning and visualisation is not permitted.
