A Green Residential Building in the Heart of Brisbane
Designed by Rothelowman and developed by Aria Property Group, the residential project comprises 90 apartments with a gross floor area of approximately 8,375 m². The central idea is to treat landscaping not merely as an element surrounding the building, but as an integral part of the architecture itself. The vegetation becomes a visible feature of the residential development, shaping the building's distinctive character. The result is a residential concept that combines urban density with generous green spaces.
This approach extends across the different levels of the building. While retail spaces on the ground floor create a lively connection between the building and the surrounding neighbourhood, the apartments offer private retreats. Communal recreational areas on the rooftop provide additional spaces for social interaction and outdoor relaxation. In this way, Treehouse combines individual living comfort with shared outdoor spaces.

Concrete Surfaces as Part of the Design Concept
Alongside the greenery, the choice of materials plays an important role in shaping the building's architectural identity. The RECKLI formliner 1/124 B Taro was used to create textured concrete surfaces. These surfaces add distinctive design accents to the balcony areas and complement the building's organic architectural forms.
The use of architectural concrete demonstrates how functional building elements can be integrated into the overall design through carefully selected surface textures. The focus is on the relationship between lush vegetation and durable materials, creating a cohesive architectural appearance.

Award-Winning Residential Concept
More than 60 mature trees, green balconies, curved façades and spacious rooftop gardens establish a connection with the neighbouring Davies Park. The combination of private apartments, communal rooftop spaces and an active ground-floor zone brings together different uses within a single building.
In recognition of this concept, Treehouse by Aria received the 2023 UDIA National Award in the High Density Residential category. The award recognises the project's architectural quality and innovative approach to combining urban living spaces with generous greenery.
