Hotel Karwendel, Pertisau, Austria

Anyone who steps into the new parking level of the four-star-superior Hotel Karwendel in Pertisau instantly senses that the design concept doesn’t stop at the hotel lobby. The property’s commitment to comfort, aesthetics, and sustainability extends all the way downstairs—making the garage the very first impression for arriving guests. The concept was devised by Hotel & Spa Archifaktur GmbH and brought to life by STRABAG AG.

At its heart are dramatic exposed-concrete walls created with our design 2/42 Naab in the sustainable FormlinerEco version. Alternating narrow and wide vertical grooves lend the concrete a dynamic yet subtle vibrancy. Paired with linear light strips, they create a play of sheen and depth that turns the parking area into something akin to an art installation.

The choice of the FormlinerEco underscores the project’s clear sustainability ambitions. Made with bio-circular raw materials, this version cuts conventional fossil content by up to 90 percent. Fully ISCC PLUS-certified, the system guarantees transparency throughout the entire supply chain. Learn more at: FormlinerEco

There was also a practical benefit on-site: RECKLI delivered the Formliner pre-bonded to carrier boards, allowing them to be placed quickly into the formwork and stripped without damage.

The result is an underground garage that sets new benchmarks in both aesthetics and ecology—and may well claim the title of the most beautiful parking facility in all of Austria.
