Housing, Warsaw, Poland

Vilnius city scenes decorate the façade of this residential build in the polands capital. The effect was achieved with artico neo foils from RECKLI.

Poland’s capital city of Warsaw is growing and creating new living space. When building a new district, the architects at HRA Architekci decided to use the city’s development as the theme of the façade for its new building in an unusual way: views of the city were to be applied to the outer skin.

To realize this, artico neo foils from the RECKLI VISUALS range were used. Sketches of city scenes were first computerized and turned into graphics. These were then printed onto 11 plastic foils with a high-quality concrete deactivator. The foil was placed inside the forms for the precast concrete elements, which were produced by the experts at the KROE and Pankreator precast concrete plants.

Once the concrete had dried, the treated surfaces were washed so that the uppermost layers of concrete were partially washed away. This washing makes the graphic evident in the concrete both visually and haptically. The precast elements were produced using the highest class of exposed concrete and installed as a curtain façade. RECKLI’s Graffix surface treatment protects it from the elements as well as graffiti.
